What is xylitol?
 
Xylitol is a sweetening substance of plant origin.  It looks and tastes similar to ordinary sugar, but contains 40% less calories.
 
It is a healthy alternative to white sugar and has a very low glycemic index IG = 8, so it does not cause glucose levels and insulin concentrations in the blood.
 
Sutaible for diabetics, ketogenic diets and low carbohydrate diets.
